Description

7 seeds

This is an amazing fast growing tree (more than 5m in 18 months, with a trunk 20cm wide) - hence the name "mile a minute". It is a pioneer species used for reforestation, and makes a great start to creating your own rainforest.

It has green, ferny foliage and in spring a profusion of yellow, fragrant pea-shaped flowers in spikes 30cm long. It looks much like a cross between a yellow flowering jacaranda and a tree fern as it has ferny leaves and an umbrella shape.

The tree looses its large leaves in late winter just before flowering occurs. The leaves, which can be up to 2m long are supposedly the largest compound leaves in the world.

This is 7 seeds sent with propagation information.

Care

Full sun. Water well when establishing, to produce a drought hardy plant when mature. If the rainy season is poor, the leaves that year will not grow as large.
